Selling on the Market

Anyone growing produce can sell on the market. The sheds at the front of the market  (1, 8, 9 and 10)  are reserved for Alabama growers with an Alabama Growers Permit. Out of state produce will be sold in the Northend shed located at the back of the market or Buy/Sell are of Shed 10.

To set up under the sheds at the front of the market (Sheds 1, 8 , 9 or 10 ) you must be an Alabama Farmer who meets the following criteria :

a. Has actively grown produce in Alabama for the forty-five (45) days preceding

application; and,

b. Has a grower’s permit from his/her County Extension Office Agent; and, either,

c. Provides an address for the location of the place where goods are grown; or,

d. Provides a farm number as issued by the United States Department of Agriculture

(information will be provided on Annual Crop Report).

e. All farmers must sell on the North End (back of the market)  until the documents listed above have been verified by the Board and/or the Market Manager.
